MRP Mobility is proud to congratulate our CEO, Colt Parsons for being named as one of the 2019 Triad Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty! Colt has been an entrepreneur from a young age. He started his first IT company in high school and quickly learned about the focus, drive and sacrifice that it takes to be an entrepreneur. Hooked on the world of entrepreneurship, he sold the business before he turned 21, ready to move on to something bigger.
Born to Build Businesses
Colt was familiar with the world of IT, even as a kid. His grandfather introduced him to computers at a young age and he fondly recalls spending weekends tinkering and taking apart electronics together. As young as he was, his passion was clear, technology was going to be a major part of Colt’s life. Over the next 16 years or so, Colt built on that initial interest, learning about technology and following new advances in the industry. When the opportunity to create a business around technology and mobile devices presented itself, Colt jumped in with both feet.
An Opportunity to Innovate
After a few years in the IT industry, Colt realized that large, global companies were struggling to manage the cost and logistical complexity of deploying mobile devices. They had few, if any, options when it came to single source, global deployments. Instead of a single solution, they were having to work with a variety of partners in different locations, or be forced to build their own complex network of staging centers. In 2016, Colt founded MRP Mobility to simplify this process and to remove the headaches associated with managing large mobility programs. As a global company, MRP provides end-to-end deployment and management of devices in more than 70 countries through our network of global staging centers.
Growth and What’s Ahead
Mobile devices are in the hands of nearly every employee at every company on the planet, and Colt is truly inspired to streamline and simplify the staging, kitting, deployment and management of these devices. He is motivated to build a business that will one day create a legacy in Enterprise Mobility in honor of his grandfather. Colt hopes to grow MRP to be actively working in every country around the world and become an industry leader—designing and developing new and creative solutions to solve complex IoT challenges.
Being an innovator can be lonely. Colt had to take chances and do things that other people are often afraid to do. Having dealt with the emotional stress of being a leader himself, Colt wants to help other young entrepreneurs, so they can avoid some of the common pitfalls that he had to deal with. Colt hopes to spend time giving back to the entrepreneurial community by sharing his struggles and challenges. Over the years, Colt has built a support network and honed his coping skills to effectively manage the stress that comes with the uncertainties of owning your own business.
Colt is an avid reader who enjoys traveling and visiting new places —but his true passion is building and growing businesses.
